Cairo Pavilion

Ground Zero

As part of a computational design and digital fabrication workshop led by Noon Studio (ن) at Cairo University, a full-scale shading pavilion was conceived, designed, and constructed using parametric tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper. The workshop emphasized the integration of algorithmic thinking, material logic, and fabrication constraints within a unified design process. The pavilion was fabricated through CNC machining and assembled on-site within just two weeks, demonstrating the efficiency and precision of computational workflows. Beyond its physical outcome, the project served as a pedagogical experiment, showcasing how digital design methods can bridge speculative design and real-world construction, while fostering collaboration, innovation, and hands-on learning among students.
